Gosh! really confused now, and I do recognise some of the Dalian, think I have them in my china cabinet!

The base to mine is close to the V.Nason base, but with the concave pontil is a mystery.
Am off to take photos of my other vases, so will post them here.

Have 4 more vases to ID, so hope some of them are Murano?

Dalian or Murano, weight 1.3kgs, is a beautiful vase.

Think the one on the left is Dalian, now I see others, has a really bad broken pontil,
the little one has blue and white flecks with the gold/copper laid over, old label, but wording well gone.

Wow what an overload of unidentifyables! Trick with Dalian is that the shapes are simple, there are no specialist glassmaker operations like added feet, ears, or clear casings. These items are mass produced and any further work will lower production and make them more expensive. In Muranese production this is less of an issue.
Saying that, I am not sure if these are all from the same source. The Nason items all have an intensive use of Aventurine, while the others use it more sparingly. Aventurine is expensive, splinters are rolled into the surface of the glass which should then be finished with care. High temperatures will burn the copper flecks so secondary oven operations are off.

There are definitely more glassmakers who have used this colour combination (Zwiesel, I think) , but Nason is by far the largest producer. In any case the label on the blue one looks very Italian - perhaps Laura or Svazzo can recognise it by the shape & colour.

Can I upload that to GlassGallery Ivo?  I've already written to Glassyone about the initial photos in that posting.  :)

Of course, dear Moderator. In fact, I think I will reshoot that picture using the breathtaking Eos 400D. No expense spared, you see.... ::)

The concave ground but not polished pontil is a dead givaway.

I have seen thousands of these types of vases.

The polished pontil can be seen in this photo in the upper right hand side.

The vase in the lower left has a generic, red bordered, accession label from the late 19th or early 20th century (could be Salviati). I don't know what the other two are.

I know it is an old thread but the pictures are still up and something can be learned... heh...

Sandy, this auction appears to be the same money bag vase. Seller says it is marked "Hand Made Murano Italy", which I take to mean it has a sticker. Maybe email the seller for a shot of the sticker? Ebay item 370013187738.

My personal opinion is that this is newer Murano glass, but the sticker will tell the tale. :-)

Shannon and all,

Some of the Murano shops sell cheap Asian imports.  They even put "Murano" labels on them.  Many Barbini items are outsourced to the Czech republic.

Sad but true.

I'm assuming ebay 250203209465 is chinese, and it's similar to the OP's vase.
