WF Soda or not? ID help appreciated
« on: March 26, 2007, 09:00:57 PM »
This is proving difficult to pin down, initially I'd thought it might be a 1964 Whitefriars Soda Vase in Shadow Green, pattern 9548, but it's got a rather long neck and the shape's all wrong - I haven't found a comparable shape yet.  Piccies below (apologies for the pinky red tinge - I think that was being reflected off my daughters craft table which was to the side!)

What size please?

I started with Carnival glass, then other C20 irridescent, then Whitefriars ducks, then Dartington FT Daisies etc, then Whitefriars Tricorns...when will it end?

Okay, the size is way out for 9548 but I can't see any others with that sort of shape.  I know how difficult it is from photos but the colour doesn't look murky enough for Shadow Green.  Also a nagging questionmark in my mind is the thickness of the glass, the WF soda I have/had was thinner than that.

Sorry not conclusive I know, I'll keep my eye out in the catalogues as I browse.

Yes that's sort of what I think Tim - it's just not quite right although similar - the thickness is OK compared to the WF amethyst barrel soda vase I have however.   Anyway, thanks for looking - much appreciated :-)
