Chris
It is definitely Davidson. It is an ice cream/banana split dish that appeared with other ice cream dishes in a Davidson ad in 1912. This shape came in two sizes. There was also a shell shape that came in two sizes and I have the smaller shell in clear and blue pearline and the larger (5 1/2") in primrose pearline. I shared this info with this group about 2 years ago, and forgot to attribute the information was acquired from John Bell, a collector/dealer from England. Bell then responded to this group that it would have been nice if I would have mentioned where I got the info. I don't know the previous link to the former discussion, so I figure I will just generate the info again! I printed the full page ad in a previous issue of the GLOWING REPORT (sept 2004). just barely visible in the top right corner of the ad is the stylized letters GD made into a circle. There was also a glass blower in the top left corner. the original ad showed this much more clearly, but i just pulled out my old Glowing Report and quickly scanned the page for this posting.
http://www.vaselineglass.org/davidsonad.jpgI recently went to a friends house, and they had two sizes of this dish!
I forgot to measure them, but the ad does not mention two different sizes.
http://www.vaselineglass.org/icecreampair.jpgAlso shown in the ad is the little shell ice cream dish (4th item down on right side). Here is my collection of that dish shape, in two sizes. the metal frame/cradle is for the clear dish. Due to the opalescent reheating of the blue pearline dish, it does not quite fit perfectly the little stamped metal cradle, even though they are both the 4 1/2" size. All three are Davidson from this ad. The primrose measures 5 1/2" long, the two others measure 4 1/2" long.
http://www.vaselineglass.org/davidsonictrio.jpgIn rereading your original question, Chris, it seems one era they marketed the long 902 as a pickle dish, and then later brought it into service as ice cream servers by adding the primrose pearline color so it looked more like ice cream!!
