Help ID glass - Japanese Uranium Glass?
« on: March 23, 2005, 07:50:11 AM »
I'm after some assistance in identifying this piece of glass which I purchased at an auction or opinions as to it's origin.

The backstamp shows a rising sun over a field with a tree, possible a pine on the left hand side.  I really liked the shape and the colour but it's origin has eluded me.

any ideas gratefully accepted.

Hi Guest    :)

I Googled Japanese Uranium glass and found the 'Japan Uranium Glass Collectors Club' - have you contacted them?  There's an email facility, so you could pose the question of the tree and sun stamp on the base of your item at least.

The only mark in Hartmann anything like this is Bohemian 1925. But that has two pine trees and a deer between them with the sun above the deer.
