Walsh Primrose epergne flute

I've moved this from another thread (which I had 'highjacked' - with Bernard's collusion   )

Leni — I am still worried about the end of your W9691 epergne flute. I have been thinking on and off about what it fits, and am having problems. At first I thought that the blunt end indicated that it slipped into a ring fitting, but the pincerwork spiral may make that unlikely.

I bought a Stuart Cairngorm single flute epergne a couple of days ago. This has two ring fittings. The top ring is slightly triangular to take the three protruding green tears, so ring fittings are not always circular.

Have you any idea of what your flute could fit?

To bring us up to speed, I'll post the picture again here: http://tinypic.com/2buttl and to help Bernard's confusion, from another angle: http://tinypic.com/2butso
I think you can see from this Bernard that it's just a standard epergne fitting.  Did you miss the fitting in the first picture?

Does that change your ID of it as a Walsh W9691?

Leni — yes, you surmised correctly.   I had missed the supporting arm in the first photograph.

Yes it is still absolutely 100% Walsh Primrose W9691.   The added bits don't change that.   Please ignore all my previous waffle about it possibly being a single — this has to be from a four flute epergne minimum, with a central metal or glass connector.

First time I have seen evidence that Walsh made this type of epergne ornament, although I am not at all surprised.

Nice one, Leni.   Apols for leading you slightly astray.

Leni — I meant to say that I had checked Silber & Fleming.   Singles with arm fittings do appear on wall mirrors, but the metal part is horizontal and square, not vertical and round.

Does your metal part have a protruding locking tab?   If so it was a glass connector.   If not, a metal one.   The much earlier Walsh Opaline Brocade epergne at the Red House has a glass connector.

Walsh Primrose was not just yellow.   It was also made in blue and green!

Cor!  What a coincidence!  I just dug this piece out of the cabinet yesterday 'cos Kevin was visiting with his UV lights to look at my 'triffids'! (More of that later ...  :)

Here's the pics of the epergne flute:
