Massive 2.3kg Green & Amber Bowl
« on: April 04, 2007, 02:00:11 AM »
Can anyone ID this bowl. It's a heavy one, with controlled bubbles.
Amber and green, 23cms, 2.3kgs
Have looked at Svazzo's new site, and may I say Svazzo, it's great. But not able to find anything like it, so if anyone can come up with a workshop, I'd be most grateful.

Is it semi-opaque glass, looks like it from here, or is it just a trick of the light? If it's the light it looks like it might be uranium glass to me

Its sort of opalescent looking, if thats what you mean by semi opaque. The flash brought the color out, but it changes with different lights. Am waiting till dark to see if it glows under the black light.

If you have to wait till dark to see if it glows under the UV light, then it doesn't contain uranium. Shade should be adequate with any UV light to see the telltale bright green beam. Manganese gives the dull green glow you can often only see in the dark. It looks like it might but there is a Murano green that is very deceptive in daylight
