I have not seen much glass and metal combinations and this set sure looks interesting. Sorry can't be of much help, I know very little about Holmegaard. Perhaps Nic can help you out.

Um... not sure. Holmegaard made glass for various companies to combine with wooden and metal bits. I've seen huge mirrors, wrought-iron candle sconces, hanging teak lamps and all manner of other things with Holmegaard or Kastrup glass embedded in them in some way.

So it's hard to tell who did what without handling it in person. Is the grey tinted with green? If so, that's usually a good sign - but not definite by any means.

It's hard to see any color in it at all but if I look through the base and get it at a certain angle it shows a very very pale steely blue-grey but almost lilac, unless it's picking that up from the sky or some of my other glass around. I even tried out of two diffent windows and against white paper but that just looks dark.
It feels nice quality to me. A nice weight c625g. Pontil is completely round and central. Thanks for looking anyway. Ed.

Blue-grey is a no for Holmegaard then.

Could be maybe Polish or German.....? Unsure.

Hi,
Items like this always need a little circumspection, and these items when I saw them said "Germany".
The style and the manner of the metal mounts is the key factor, and I doubt that it is foreign made glass in German metalwork.
Regards,
Marcus
