« on: April 22, 2007, 11:17:21 AM »
I've had this hanging around for a while and haven't got round to putting it on, any ideas on this one please?  The carafe measures 19cms height.

The signature is most likely to be the decorator, is it enamelled (Not easily scratchable)?

Striking piece!

Love the decoration. Looks more 1980s to my eyes, though. It's a very post-modern-ish form, with Keith Haring-esque decoration.

More an observation than an educated guess.

Thankyou Frank and Nic, yes I think the decoration is enamelled and I'll have a look at some Haring stuff if I can, cheers! :)

Very recent piece, circa 2000 or not much before, either from Italy or Germany. Could be Ritzenhoff Marsberg, or Arques, or Bormioli  - in any case mass distributed.

These turn up on markets on a regular basis, usually long drink and wine glasses but also the decanter.  I believe there is even a Milennium champagne version with the same screened decoration.

Gill, no idea on your carafe #730 I'm afraid, BUT did you know the maker of your bowl in picture 729? It is FORTUNA of Brockwitz - please do not ask me about the frog, we still do not know for sure
