Topic: The identitiy of an ice coupe in grey (Dutch / Belgian?)

I wonder if anybody can help me with this lovely ice coupe (or fruit coupe).
Its got a slightly grey colour and the shape would suggest 1960's perhaps, but that's about all I can guess without help!

The rim is ground but unflamed.

This is a bowl glass, not for ice cream. Bowl was an insipid mix of canned fruit and lemonade (and cheap vermouth if you were lucky) to be served at Dutch birthday parties in the 1950s and 1960s after two cups of weak coffee, a piece of cream cake and one small chocolate. The large rim is for cherry stones. Bowl glasses were made in Maastricht, Leerdam and by several makers in Germany where such party fun is equally enjoyed. I've not seen any from Belgium but I would not be surprised.

Good grief, does that make it a bowl bowl? You make it sound even worse than 'punch'. These turn up here, to, for no good reason. I'd always wondered what that base rim was for - thank you, Ivo.

The sort with an upright or outwardly flared rim are generally called grapefruit dishes but the saucer could just as well be for your spoon as for pips. Much more convenient than a bowl with an underplate, it being bad manners to put your spoon in your dish and certainly not on the tablecloth
