Holmegaard Photos - 2 Uncatalogued Patterns
« on: April 24, 2007, 03:40:40 PM »
I had a small number of photos sent to me this morning of a visit to the Holmegaard factory in 1973.

Whilst all are fascinating, one of them stands out because it shows two uncatalogued patterns.

Overview
Close-Up
(Apologies for picture quality - my scanner is on the fritz)

I knew about the glass bird - they were for sale only to visitors of the factory. I have one that was made in 1970, and one that was made the day these photographs were taken. But the 'Dog-Bone' vase is a new one to me, completely. I knew Lutken designed one in plain glass (although it never went into full production), but this has swirled colour in the base!

Leni! That's just mean!  ;D But I certainly wouldn't have said Holmegaard at first glance.

I like the colours though - they're the same as the Carnaby and Palet ranges. The bird from 1970 is a lot more petite and subtle - I'll have to photograph it soon.

Oh, Frank, if you read this - would you like some images of the birds for the Zoo?
