Wolf, Give me a few days, I will see what I can find out for you.
thank you very much for your offer - and no real hurry: we'll be on holiday in the area in September, and it would be nice to "plan" a visit, rather than just keep our eyes open (which we always do).
sorry only glazers in Poitou-Charentes according to Le Guide des Verriers.
Thank you for checking. As you seem to have access to this book: is the "Verrerie de Locronan" (Bretagne) mentioned in there? We bought a fairly large item (almost 2 kg) there a couple of years ago - a "newel post to be":
similar to this one (finished):
The piece we found in the back of the shop (and liked) was broken - but we were told two new ones like it were in the annealing oven, almost finished. We had a quick look at them, chose one - and were able to pick it up an hour later - wrapped in masses of paper, and promising to keep it wrapped for at least another day. As we have no place for a newel post, we very much liked the idea of having a "one-off footed paperweight"
So - if the verrerie is mentioned in the book, any info would be appreciated.
