Pretty amethyst decanter or perfume bottle
« on: June 15, 2007, 02:33:55 PM »
I can find nothing about this kind of shape at all, so if anyone has seen anything like it I would be very grateful for any help.

It is very very pretty, I presume a large perfume decanter, because it is so feminine?  And modern or old?

It is approx 10.5 ins 270 mm to the top of the stopper.  Stopper and inside of neck both have engraved 7 so would seem to be matching, and the stopper is very firm in the neck.  Base has round concave polished pontil.  Amethyst body of the decanter has delicate optical ribbing, twisting round the neck.

Here are the pix:

many thanks in advance!

Thank you very much!
