hi all,
it has been a long time since I have visited....
I just got this paperweight  - it was sold to me as antique/vintage-taken from an estate with other weights from the 1890s-1920s...
a bit over 3 3/4" H & 3" D -clear glass with 4 exterior elogated "holes"
controlled bubbles over core of multicolor spatter glass.
nice basal rim wear
TIA

Welcome back. My 'I don't know anything much about paperweights' guess would be Bohemian just from the colours. Nice one

Thanks for the reply!!!
Could be --but it just doesn't "feel" Bohemian to me..(esp with bubbles).(it that makes sense!)..
I do remember see one of these before--and for the life of me can't recall the ID attribution...

Your paperweight is a pen holder. I've seen pen holders by St Clair. This one does not look like St Clair.
I collect Scottish and Italian paperweights and anything else that strikes my fancy.

Thanks Allan !  That was definitely one I considered ! Did they not mark older pieces?  Would you have any idea of age??

Gentile marked some but not all of their paperweights.  I have quite a few that are unmarked including a pencil holder like yours.

I have a web page that summarizes the history of the factory:

http://paperweights.com/gentile.htm

I think it dates from the 1970s.
