Pink Depression Glass Madrid - New or Old???
« on: June 21, 2007, 05:06:18 PM »
I have a piece of pink depression glass in what i believe to be the Madrid style.  It is 8 1/2 inches pedastaled candle holder.  It has the three inserts in the bottom, which indicate it is a replica 1976 Madrid style, however I can find no reference to this piece ever being made anywhere.  Please Help

Thanks

Hi Welcome to the board. I wonder if what you have really is Madrid. Madrid was only reissued in amber in 1976 by Federal but reproduced in the 1980s in pink by Indiana. If 1976 it should have the date worked into the design. The repro candlestick appears to differ from the old ones in the hole for the candle. All this according to Mauzy and Florence. Post a picture so we can have a look. See here for help on posting pictures
