Monart Label.
« on: April 30, 2006, 05:04:16 PM »
During a very unproductive weekend glass hunting, a friend approached me with a large approx 9" bowl  inverted similar to Y shape on Frank's site,  (colour dark mottled green fading to lightgreen) perfect Monart glass bowl he had acquired earlier and asked my advice on the age and value. The Monart had a label to the base and my friend asked how old I thought the bowl was. I would have liked to have photographed both bowl and label but had left my camera at home .  Do you have any idea where dated Monart labels can be viewed please. I can't quite follow website's directions  i have promised to take a photo of both bowl and label when I next see him.
Thanks again.

Hi,
As promised I managed to take a picture of my friend's bowl inc label, albeit in the middle of a field (boot sale) on a very uneven piece of cloth on a very contrasty day. The bowl is pink not green, by the way, OH dear!!   Can someone confirm item as genuine please.

Hi Bryn,

I really don't know the first thing about Monart,  :? but looking at the labels on Franks site, I would say 1947-1961. G2 Post-War coded.

Hopefully someone will confirm.  :)
If I know, I'll comment. If I think I know, I'll have a go. If I have no idea, I'll just keep quiet and learn from others, so the next time I'll know.

Only way to determine value of Monart is to auction it. But I would estimate it 50-200 Euros, common colour and shape.
