Austria Signed Bud Vase Does Anyone Recognise this Mark?
« on: July 11, 2007, 03:26:01 AM »
Pretty jeweled Bud vase that is marked Austria, but then it has two acid marks that I can't figure out who might have made this.  It's 6.75-inches tall.  Thanks!

Thanks Sue for responding, the acid etch wasn't a complete stamp!!  :-[  The only initials I can make out is the T and possibly a "C" but then it could be G?

If no one can reconise the stamp mark, could anyone possibly date this bud vase for me?  I've heard early 1900s, but that was from the estate sale lady I bought it from and I NEVER listen to them.  ::)

Hi Nancy, have just had another look around and found one similar to your's, BTW, when i click on your signature image it come's up quite large, so not a bad image of the sig, anyway if you go to www.heartland-discoveries.com  scroll down to Daudt glass and crockery company, guess where it was/is? Toledo Texas, the mark is a large T encircled by a C and the bar of the T is crcled by an S, hope this help's.
Sorry, go to site map and scroll down

I dont know Christine, there is very little about them on the web and nothing in any of the book's i have, maybe our American freind's can find out a bit more about the company? it was the only mark that i could find that looked anything like the one on Nacy's bud vase.

I'm not really sure if it's the same, as the one on the ref site has a G surrounding the TCS motif but Nancy's doesn't appear to have this. The other mark below it is bugging me too, as I feel sure I've seen this somewhere else but am blowed if I know where.
Cheers! Anne, da tekniqual wizzerd

Yes, the # sign is bothering me too!  I thought Lobmeyr at first, but it just doesn't match up.  Unless it's missing part of the acid stamp too.

I thought Lobmeyr too at first, but as Nancy says, it doesn't match up.  What about Tiroler Glasshütten, Austria?  That's part of Riedel now according to Ivo's A-Z book, but they were operational from 1756 onwards.

I can't find anything out about their type of wares though...
