I'd be interested in Johns output between the J glass and St Kilda era and the early/mid 1990's.

I have a Ysart style butterfly set up with two distinct coloured millefiori canes to form the upper and lower wings. Dated 1992.

Everything else that could be earlier looks to be just JD or no signature cane.

I've certainly never seen anything labelled Crieff Glass, or identified anything definitely produced on an ad hoc basis from 1985 to 1992.

I feel a trip to Crieff is needed!!!

Hi,
I received the weight today.  Here is a pic (not very good  :-[)of the sig cane:
http://glassgallery.yobunny.org.uk/displayimage.php?pos=-7960
As you should be able to see if you click to enlarge the pic the sig says JHD (the H is gren/blue and the rest red) and underneath 1996!!! (the 199 part is red and the 6 blue/green).
So the description in the auction saying it is 1990 was slightly out >:( . So instead of being one of the earliest eaxamples of this sig it may be one of the last ones!
Anycase I am still happy with the weight:

It is a very pretty little thing, still not sure if I should scream and shout at the seller!
Kind regards,
KarelM

Hi Karel,
have you got a scanner (or access to one)? Scanning is often a very effective method to take a picture of the base of a paperweight (for signatures and the like). Put the weight in the middle of the glass, and cover all open glass with paper (to reduce flair). If you can select resolution, go up to 600 dpi (if possible) for the original scan - can always be reduced later.
Have fun  -  Wuff
