Aladins Cave PP7 Id help please
« on: July 16, 2007, 02:41:51 PM »
Hi,
I have recently bought this weight and I think it may be a Perthshire Aladins Cave.  The size is right at about 2 1/2 inches.
Four down thrusts capped with a small bubble on each circles the centre thrust that is capped with a larger bubble. Top: http://glassgallery.yobunny.org.uk/displayimage.php?pos=-7893
The stems or thrusts can be seen in the side view: http://glassgallery.yobunny.org.uk/displayimage.php?pos=-7892
The base is unmarked and the flas clearly shows the pontel that has been lightly firepolished :

Thanks in advance,

Having had another dig around I realise this could be a Harlequin from Strathearn.  My problem is that I get the impression that both the PP7 and the harlequin had a lot more cullet in than this weight.
So is this just a cheap ripoff?
Kind regards
Karel

For reference purposes:
I've started a new topic on a similar weight but made with full cane slices instead of cullet as in the PP7:
