Glass Animals - are there any Pirelli? [RP]
« on: March 22, 2007, 10:32:54 AM »
I feel sure that the Scottie Dog in pic 1 is Pirelli and I have assumed that all the others are Murano? Can anyone help me with the identification, please?
Much appreciated
Ronnie

1. The large bird and dog are Pirelli.

2. Parrot maybe.

3. No pirelli

Others could be German, Italian, British or whatever.

Oo oo!  I guessed the big dog was!  :D I thought it was because of the three colour eyes.  Was that right?

3 coloured eyes are a good pointer but far from being exclusive to Pirelli. The real reason for the ID is that labelled examples are known.

The swordfish in the third picture is Pirelli - it is in the Pirelli Glass Ltd illustrated catalogue held by the Rakow Library (Corning Museum).
Sorry I didn't spot it earlier.
