Balboa Vase that looks like Fratelli Toso
« on: July 13, 2007, 02:50:23 PM »
I thought I would post this link. I see these vases sold quite often as Fratelli Toso. They do look like Toso, but apparently they are Balboa (Italy, if the label is ligit).

Does anyone know anything about Balboa Glass? I'll have to see if I can find pictures of things they have made.

Balboa was a New York based importer for i.a. Toso.

That makes sense. This is the first time I have heard of them. I found one other thing with a Balboa label that was listed on eBay. It looked like it could have been made by one of the quality Murano companies.

I've a huge pair of Dino Martens lamps from Aureliano Toso dating to 1954 with Balboa labels on them both they used to act as US importers for a number of the major glass houses on Murano.
