Hi All, I am trying to date and name a pair of candle holders by Orrefors. They are both engraved and one has a foil sticker which reads Porslin Ericsson Lund and I wonder if this should tell me something or maybe the label has come of something else. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I would guess that the label is a retailer label (probably from a retailer called "Ericsson Porslin" in Lund, Sweden, where I happen to live). Unless we can establish during which period that retailer was in business (it was not when I moved here in 1994), that label regretfully doesn't help much.

Would it be possible to post a picture? That would definately help...

Hi again Sue,

I'm not 100% positive, but these candlesticks look like a model called SP 3945, and if so they were designed by Sven Palmqvist sometime during the early sixties. According to the catalogue, they should be around 50 mm high and 70 mm wide, is that right?

SP 3945 was in production at least until 1981, but probably longer. The label is indeed a retailer label.

Yes they are thoses measurements approx just slightly under, thank you so much for your help, you have been a great help I was at a loss as to where to look, tried ebay but they never appeared. I have a great find there as I paid 50p for the pair (less than $1) Thank you cjf. I thought the design was modern but the foil sticker made me think 60s.
