Orrefors Corona bowl Signed by Lars Hellsten
« on: June 18, 2005, 07:37:39 PM »
Hi,

I believe this is a Orrefors Corona bowl.

My question is:

The bowl is signed Lars Hellsten. Does that mean he actually made it?
The full mark is Orrefors Lars Hellsten.

The Corona Bowl was designed by Lars Hellsten a designer for the Orrefors Glass Works. The piece is made
on a centrifuge, a technique developed by Sven Palmqvist, a designer at the same works.

The bowl comes in at least five different sizes. Lars designed the work but does not make the commerical form or sign the work.

This bowl is one of the most successful forms ever made by Orrefors and 1000's have been sold throughout the world.
