Danish or Dutch?
« on: September 12, 2007, 05:49:19 PM »
Item at hand:

Unsigned, polished pontil and polished stand - a combination usual in Leerdam glass. My first hunch is Holmegaard L├╝tken. My second impulse is Leerdam Meijdam. We see lots of Meijdam here and it always looks like someone else's work from the year before. I guess he was easily "inspired".

Thoughts, anyone?

Naturally, my first thought was Lutken too...so it's probably over to Nic for assistance.  :)

I am not a man

I would say probably not Holmegaard - the shape looks too squat, and the base too broad. It's hard to make out the colour - it looks like a smokey blue?

Yes it is a bluish smoke - I'll have to compare it to other known items in daylight.

Ah, definitely not Holmegaard then.

Hi.  I have one exactly the same and was told by a Dutch dealer that it is Leerdam, he didn't give a designer though.  Emmi

Floris Meijdam is the designer.
