Doesn't glass of this era have a country name stamped on the base, unless it is British? If that was the supposed international convention, it could be United Glass, for example?

I'd never thought to look on the base (duh!!  :spls:) ...it says France embossed on the base ... so one down....

Actually that is two down, Made in France, Imported by Hoskins Rose and possibly decorated by them or to their request. I think they would have announced if they had their own decorating shop and so far I have not seen such an announcement.
