Welcome to GMB, Tess. However, it's very hard to identify anything without a photo, so if you can post one this would help greatly! Wink

Jylland appears to be a term related to Jutland (Denmark) so I expect the glass originated from here. There might also be a glass museum based here:

http://www.feriedanmark.dk/uk/glasmuseet-ebeltoft-3402.html

This style of glass making, and the decoration, was very popular in the 1950s onwards. Perhaps Ivo can help further (nothing in the Fact File book)?

I've looked through both volumes of Dansk Glas, and Kastrup & Holmegaard's Glassworks: 1825-1975 (which has some refreence to other Danish glassworks), but no mention of any company called Jylland Glas in either.

However, there's a small paragraph in Glashandvaerk i Danmark that says glass production in North Jutland ended in 1922 After the Aalborg factory was purchased by Kastrup Glasvaerk and closed down.

So, in essence... I've not got a clue. Sorry.

Thanks Nic: could it then be Kastrup retaining the Jylland name for posterity? The style seems to suggest 1950s-60s.

I've not heard of Kastrup using alternative names, and there's no mention of it in any of my reference books. I agree about the period of manufacture, though.

It might be worth contacting the Glashistorisk Selskab Holbęk: HERE - they have a good broad knowledge of Danish glass.

I have never heard of a glasswork or studio called "Jylland Glas" think it is more a trade name used by a company, it is properly not produced in Dk.

A photo of label may be of help.
