Murano Artisans of Brazil?
« on: September 21, 2007, 05:51:50 PM »
Can anyone describe the labels of pieces that come from Brazil?  Or, better yet, a picture of the label(s)?

I'm a new collector and I want to only obtain pieces that actually were made in Murano.

Thanks!!

There's a branch of a Seguso family making class in Brazil. I don't think I've ever seen any of their glass, but you can check it out at Novica.com. I've never seen the labels and they're not shown on the site that I looked at.  I don't think they hide that they're in Brazil. Like ICET, they're very proud of the Murano origins, as were many of the other Murano artisans who started elsewhere, Chalet, FM, for example.

Thanks for the info.  I've never heard of ICET, but I read about the Brazil company after getting their name from Novica.

I'll check out the link.
