Murano 101: Murano Labels!!!
« Reply #110 on: August 07, 2006, 08:04:21 PM »
I think this thread could do with a clean-up to remove the older chatter and make the info more accessible, but without moving it to the archive so that it continues to grow.

Any objections?

YES! Please don't tinker with it Frank until I've rescued the info to go with all the labels in Murano101 album. I won't have time for at least another week!

Javier, your rooster shield is the same label as Jim Sapp posted as found on fairy lamps and which Sue mentioned on her sommerso gold and green duck both earlier in this thread.  No-one seems to know who it's from yet but  I did notice that Campanella also use a chicken in their more recent-looking labels. Could there be a connection? Two glass firms with chickens may be unusual or are the Muranese especially fond of chickens?
See this label for comparison:

Murano label added
« Reply #116 on: August 29, 2006, 03:04:43 AM »
Hi, I just joined and dont know much about my glass. Ive uploaded a label that I have on a bowl purchased about 6 years ago. Ive put a link to a pic of the bowl here so that someone may be able to identify the age and maker and attribute the label to it.
Hope Ive done it okay, I have a couple of others to add.

Hi Selina,
I can't tell which labels on the glass gallery belong to your two bowls. Could you put the labels on here as well as the bowls?
Millions of thanks,
Angela
