Hi,
Do any of our Canadian members have infromation regarding two import companies who imported Czech glass?
The two companies used the labels Belfor and Waldonia.
Thanks in advance,
Marcus

Hi Marcus,
It seems as though Belfor are still trading and still importing Czech glass.

Not sure if you have this info already, however.
The owner of Waldonia Ltd was a Mr. Rudolf van der Walde. He had a company in Germany which went into liquidisation between 1938/39

I presume that he then went over to Canada.
If I know, I'll comment. If I think I know, I'll have a go. If I have no idea, I'll just keep quiet and learn from others, so the next time I'll know.

Balfor crystal is what I had for my wedding present crystal. Lovely etched glass, thistle pattern. I will have to see if it is still available through the company's website. I know there is a lovely replacement store in Victoria, British Columbia. If you want, I can look up name, addresses, etc.
