Blacksheep X 2?
« on: October 01, 2007, 07:31:43 PM »
I own these two paperweights and would like to know if there is any way to estimate a value for these two pieces. The round one is marked,"ME 94" and the oblong is marked, "1997 Blacksheep Glass." Both were purchased at the same time and because they appear to "match" in the theme and quality, I suspect both are Blacksheep.

Thanks!

I've never heard of Blacksheep Glass.

A way to find a "current value" is to offer them on eBay with a high reserve so that they don't sell but give an idea of what some people might pay for them.

Hi, Blacksheep Glass seem to be a US glasshouse

http://www.blacksheepglass.com/secondary/products2.htm

bit more here about Scott Kempton - the gallery seems to rate him.

Certainly the style of the glass seems similar to your paperweights.  You could email them and send them the pics and ask to check if they are his production.
Thank you very much!

Here's another link re: Blacksheep Glass:

The weight marked ''M E'' is a Mark Eckstrand piece.
Here's a pic of my favorite Eckstrand piece in my collection. It's a super magnum and the fish is quite odd in a fun way.

James, could I also ask you if it is possible for your pics to be a little larger please?  I really can't see any details, and if I enlarge them they are pixilating so I can't see any more.

thanks!

Thank you very much!

Fabulous! I really do like the work of some of the US paperweight makers now.

I imagine you are very pleased with them?
Thank you very much!
