Vaseline Jack in Pulpit looks like Stourbridge?
« on: October 07, 2007, 02:23:33 PM »
Below is my latest find. It is a Vaseline Jack in Pulpit with what looks to be a Stourbridge bottom. I look in Canary to Contemporary book #205 which is a Stourbridge vase. It has the same base as the Jack in Pulpit that I have found.

Would you say that mine is Stourbridge? Thanks for any help!!

That is gorgeous - it looks very vaseline-y from here... do you have a UV light to test it?
Thank you very much!

Under a UV light it burst with a green glow. Also to describe it. The picture makes it look taller then it really is. It is about 7 inches tall and the flower is about 3 inches wide. The bottom has a rough pontil mark but there is no other markings.

Beautiful vase! What a great find.  :)
It does look very Stourbridge to me. In fact that leafy base is very similar to the bases on Richardson's tulip vases, so maybe it's by them?

Fantastic flower!  I love it!  I'd say it definitely looks like a Richardson to me, too.   Definitely Stourbridge anyway. (Go on, slap me down for daring to be too definite , I don't care!  >:D)
