Can anyone verify this signature (I rubbed it over with a little pencil to bring it out) - I think it  is a Peter Layton piece.

I have two pieces of Peter's work, one of which I saw him sign in my presence, so I know it wasn't done by one of his studio staff.  The sig on your piece does look similar to, though not exactly like, the ones on my pieces - which I have to say do each look slightly different!   Sorry this isn't very helpful!

I would be inclined to say, Yes!

I am rather chuffed actually, I bought it with two Norman Stuart Clarke pieces, that I was delighted with, but couldn't make out the signature so didn't put a very high value on this piece.

(rubs hands with potential glee.... 8) )
Thank you very much!

To update - Peter Layton's studio got back to me, and verified his signature and advised that the range was called Tabac.  I forgot to ask when it had been made, so I really must email them again and ask.

It has been in my ebay shop whilst the board has been off line, with lots of lookers but no takers, so it is going to auction this evening at a come-and-buy-me price...  I'll put the link in the Market Place when it is up and running.
Thank you very much!
