"Memphis" Large Pitcher/Vase

Here's a fun piece I acquired recently.  Cased black over red, with snaking "leaf."  Too large for anywhere but the floor!  The design strikes me as vaguely "Memphis," circa 1980s.  It has a faint plastic sticker that reads "Ultima Crystal Miami Fla. Made in Italy."  Could anyone provide any ideas as to maker and vintage?
