It should not be assumed that the decoration was done by the maker of the glasses. In fact they almost certainly were not. Huntsmen glasses at least are probably UK decorated.

Frank, is hunting in the way shown a peculiarly English past time?  I'm assuming it must be from your reply, but it's something I've never considered before.

No, and hunts attire is not wildly different elsewhere. But gates do differ and that one is English. Of course, lots of these transfers were just copies from illustrated books, might even have been in copyright at the time

Recently I was exploring gates and studying all I could see, looking back at those glasses the thought just struck me... English gate! Rider and horse much less so.
