Cheese Dome with mystery Registration Number!
« on: June 13, 2004, 12:20:29 PM »
Hi
I have just bought a flint covered cheese dome with a difference as the tray is extended with a place for biscuits.  It has "Registered Number 810748" on the base, but I have looked in all of my books and this number doesn't appear in any of them!.   It is flint and very heavy with substantial 'cut glass' pattern and I have a suspicion that it could be Bagley, but I am not sure.

Does anyone have any ideas about who the manufacturer could be?

Thanks
Nicola

Number does not show at http://www.great-glass.co.uk/glass%20notes/regnos10.htm but is obviously 1936. Any pictures?

This http://www.pressedintime.com/mystery_cheese_dish.htm  has a photo of the glass

Hi,
To find who registered the dish you would have to visit either the Public Records Office at Kew or the British Library in London.

Regards

Chris
