what have I found?

From the inimitable Jeu de Balle fleamarket in Brussels this morning - strong iridescence, no pontil, top polished smooth.  If it had a stopper (if it had a stopper) it would have to be one of the hanging type, there are no stopper marks in the neck.

Suggestions, anyone?

It looks a bit thick, but the color, iridescence and form are right for circa 1900 Italian glass.

Hurrah, yes I was thinking in that direction as well. It is not a heavy piece, it is not thinwalled either. At 10" tall  (25 cm) it looks larger than it appears in the photograph. Thanks, Laura!  :D

Ivo — I think I have seen something similar in one of my books, but I can't find it at the moment!

Don't hold your breath in anticipation, as it could take me months, and not look similar at all!
