« on: November 02, 2007, 09:03:14 PM »
Hi i bought a job lot of ceramic (Fat Lava) last year, 20 teachests full, and this was in one of the tea chests. I think its Italian, although i have nothing to base that on, can anyone please identify it for me..... 8)

We like to see their bases as well please. What country did you buy it from? My guess would be Czech but...

I think Christine's probably right with Czech (or it could be Chalet Glass, Canada).

No, I don't think so (that it's Chalet). Not flamboyant enough. Of course, I could be wrong. It's been known to happen once or twice before on this board  :o

Okay, never mind the fact that I still haven't managed to ID my glass.  ;) But this one is just not yelling Chalet to me.

Just a suggestion...but does look a bit like Chalet Glass to me, and I imagine your are aware of this site about chalet on this web page:  http://www.mblaisgallery.com/home.html

This other site, about three quarters the way down, there is a pic of a "Very Rare and Unusual Big Shimmering Manganese Laden Bowl " purple glass bowl, that is (similar  )

The teachests came from 1 of 5 barns crammed full of ceramics and glass and metalware objects collected by the late father of a friend who lives near the Danish border in North Germany.....every 4-6 months we go and clear a barn, i go in clean and come out looking like a coalman....We have cleared 2 so far, the next one is due to start in DFebruary, why do you want to come and help? There's an offer!  ;) I was speculating about the bowl's place of origin. I would go with Czech not Chalet (Canada)
