Pink pressed glass bowl - maker or country of origin?
Quackers:
The downside of buying a nice Carnival glass plate at auction is the other stuff that you get with it! Here's the first;

22.5cm diameter, it is not as orange as the photo - normal pressed pink colour. 12 sides and it is heavy.
Any ideas? TIA

Just thought I'd give this a little bump as it fell of the first page very quickly :).

Well I do have some ideas, but they are more what to do with it than who it is by.
And I don't think you would like them..... :ac1:

Possibly Czech. I have a couple of uranium pieces with similar edges. Is the quality a bit ropey? What the bottom of the bowl bit like?

You wouldn't be thinking of the recycling bin would you Lynne? ::)
Christine - the quality of manufacture is quite good actually, though the glass does have several bubbles and a bit of frit or two. The centre of the bowl is a slightly raised dome. The underside of the foot is domed as well and the rim that it sits on has been neatly polished flat. There are some visible ripples within the glass where it was pressed. And since you replied I have just thought to run the UV torch over it - no glow.
cheers
Tim
