(Presumably) A Riihimäki Vase
« on: November 04, 2007, 08:31:17 PM »
Bought this one last week - and I'm assuming that it's by Tamara Aladin for Riihimäen, c.1976... or maybe part of the Stromboli range? - but it's not a label I've come across before, having only seen the Finncristall export labels. It's not to be found on the Designlasi site either.

Vase
Label

Any help gratefully received.  ;D

Mod: Pics gone, but see further down the topic for replacements

Hurray - thanks, Della.

Just need to work out the range/designer now.  ;D

It's probably just me, but I do actually really like this very cinammony brown.

It looks like a 1436 Stromboli vase (as you said), designed in 1962, which came in 5 different sizes, but I have only ever seen two, which were both smaller.

That was my thinking after taking a proper look at it - with my Aladin 'Export' pieces the bases aren't generally so thick and the sides flare more gently, but with this one they're subtly straight and angular.

So thanks for that.  :)

Yup. The originals must have been accidentally deleted during a recent server move.

I vaguely recall that the vase turned out not to be Stromboli series... but it's far too late in the evening for me to remember what it actually is.
