I've had my eye on this funky looking bowl for a while and bought it the other day.  The seller (not a glass dealer) is adament that it belonged to her Grandmother who had it back in the 60s.  It has a polished pontil mark on the base and light and darker amethyst stripy swirls.

Any thoughts please?  At a guess, I'd say it could be Italian...

TIA ;D
