Air twist stem glass. Help please.

Hi everyone.
I bought this super glass from an auction recently. I'm afraid I know nothing about it though! So, i thought i would see if anyone here can tell me anything. It measures 18cm high. 10.5cm diameter across bowl. Foot measures 9.5cm. The bowl is acid etched with a medieval scene featuring knights on horseback etc. Also etched are the words "Be ye gentilmen of name and of arms". The glass has an air twist stem with four spirals. I am guessing that it is lead crystal as it is quite heavy at 0.75kg.
Has anyone seen one of these before? What could it have been used for? Any ideas as to maker or age?
Any help you can give would be great. Many thanks, Janet.

Hi Janet
It certainly has a really lovely air-twist stem (I love them!!) and it looks contemporary. If you run your fingernail gently across the etching, does it feel raised up slightly?

Hi Max,
Yes I love the air twist stem also, that is what first caught my eye. Yes the etching is slightly raised.

I thought the join between the stem and the foot didn't look right for the Stuart design?
