Hi everyone,
I bought these vases at auction today. I'm pretty sure the pair of vases on the left are Murano (could be wrong though :? ) but I'm not sure about the other two. I wondered if anyone could help please? Thankyou very much.

They do not look italian. These types of items are sold at many US discount stores, and tend to be from Asia.

The middle vase could be Italian (although probably not from Murano).

The vase on the far right is Japanese. I've seen it with a label.

If so, may well be signed... although the signature often just looks like a scratch!!! Could you post pictures of the bottoms please Janet?

I don't think it's Mdina. I've not seen that exact shape, the neck's too long for that sort of base, and the colouring is wrong, too "cloudy"/opaque, and the texture of the darker bits isn't quite right

Hi everyone,
Thankyou very much for your help, its greatly appreciated. Here are two more pictures of the central vase, which I think show more detail. I have examined the base very closely but I cannot see any mark or signature. The vase is white inside which gives it its opaque look. It measures 23cm in height, and 13cm across base. Thanks again.

Definitely not Mdina! I'm sure I did know what it was at one time, it looks familiar, but I've forgotten, :oops: sorry. I shall do some digging around. I know someone who has one, and seem to remember we did identify it!

As suggested earlier, most likely Italian but not from Murano - more likely from Florence. The ones on the left are definitely chinese.

I agree. They don't look murano glass at all. So or they are made somewhere else (may be Empoli), or, as second possibility, they are made in Murano, but with not traditional tecniques.

Thankyou everyone for your comments. I am still trying to find something out about the central vase in the picture. While looking through ebay, i have just come across a jug which was made on the Isle of Wight by Alum Bay. It is very similar to my vase. I would appreciate it if you could take a look and let me know what you think.
