He's one of the few peole who managed to achieve the same detail and quality that people are accustomed to seeing in paperweights, by torchworking on blown forms. I think (although I am not an expert) that his paperweights are probably quite rare. I once read that one of his wisteria pieces was 12 hours on the blowing iron and that they had to change propane tanks as they went along!

They are very very nice....but I found this:
" hefty 10 1/2-inch paperweight vase by the innovative Mark Peiser, which showed a tropical garden encased within the thick walls, achieved $21,850."
I think I will stick to looking at the pics!

It's a pity that the text does not quite tie up with the detail for one of the weights. Or are there such things as 4-winged, flying buttercups??

It's also a pity that many exellent glass artists are generally unknown to paperweight collectors because they only produce a few paperweights within their range of designs and those paperweights that are made do not usually come to the attention of the paperweight collectors.
