Very large Egret? ID = Janku design for ZBS, Czechoslovakia
« on: November 27, 2007, 07:10:01 PM »
Hi all,

I have this bird (Egret, because of the beak?), he is 32cm (12 5/8") tall. Flat polished base and of fabulous quality. I thought that he could possibly be Murano Glass, but also thought it best to post here first.

Any help with an ID will be most gratefully appreciated.

TIA
Della

I've had a few, but then again, too few to mention.
(sorry for that)
I'd think of ZBS - but must admit I've never see this perticular bird....

Hi Della,
I'd be inclined to agree with Ivo, and the colour looks a good match for ZBS colour 50720.
Regards,
Marcus

Thank you Ivo (Mr. Sinatra  ;D ) and Marcus.  :-*

My first feeling was ZBS, mainly because of the colour and the chunkiness of the piece. What totally threw me was the very delicate beak, something that I have not yet seen on their glass.

I have found out that my bird is a cormorant, he was made at ZBS and he was designed by Miroslav Janku.  ;D
