The Glass Market was a studio near Maidenhead, run by Clare XXXXX with her father Gerry XXXX and at one time Pete Turberfield worked there. I think it was in existence at the end of the eighties and the beginning of the nineties but my memory is very hazy. More details when my hard drive (brain) wakes up! Phil Oakly doesn't ring a bell though.

Clare Paxton and Gerry Paxton and they moved to

So if you email them, they may be able to help

Thanks Adam,
a massive coincidence! I am in Maidenhead, ;D  but i bought on ebay from Wiltshire !
How strange! I did once go to Siddy Langleys studio when she was in Maidenhead,
(because i fancied the Spanish Au pair that lived with her 8) )about
500 yards from where i now live!

I will email and see if i can find out more,
I did think it may have been the guy from the Human League having a day out! but speeling
is wrong :(

Cheers Andy

Found this vase today and also this old thread and wondered if anyone may have some updates regarding the glass maker Phil Oakly?

This piece is signed by him and has "The Glass Market" also etched to the base rim. It measures 15cm tall.

The Glass Market Limited (run by the Paxton family) was founded on 05 Apr 1983 and wound up as a business in 1997. Glass Heritage Ltd. incorporated on 30 Nov 1994 is also dissolved (2007). I suspect retirement is a factor, as Gerald Paxton was born 1933, which makes him 80 this year. Incidentally, a search for Gerald Paxton on Google brings up a fine assortment of his stained glass work, which included windows for Disneyland Paris.

I can't find any mention of a Phil Oakly making glass anywhere though...
