Paperweight doorknob - it's bright - it's cheerful!
« on: July 06, 2005, 05:22:18 PM »
Hmm...bit worried I'm gonna be shot down by the paperweight fanciers fraternity here!

This was bought as 'Whitefriars', but I didn't for a moment think it was by them.  I was wondering about Strathearn - but frankly I haven't got a clue.  Perhaps it's Chinese? <confused look>   :?

At the moment, I'm trying to think of the best door to put it on (and no waggish comments like 'how about the shed door')

Whoops!  Wrong forum, sorry!

Hi Max

Not Whitefriars...but your Strathearn alternative I think is spot on.
The only reason you might get shot down by the paperweight fraternity is because they didn't get to it first. A very nice piece.
ps
Perhaps another handle for your walk in safe??

Regards

Gareth

Wow!  Its lovely Max!  Can't help you with identifying it, but happy to join your posse against anyone making disparaging remarks about which door to put it on

It is Strathearn, swap you for a Perthshire doorknob with a much nicer brass base.  :)  :D   Joke

I only have 3 Vasart or Strathearn and the rest of the doors have PP's waiting for affordable V's and S's.

Max - it's one of the most cheerful Strathearn doorknobs I've seen.

But ... do you have curtains to match it  :?:

Thanks for all your very kind replies.  I'm such a dunce at paperweights, I really feel like I'm blundering in the dark with them.  I simply don't trust my own judgement.   :?

It's rather annoying that I only have one of these doorknobs, as I'd quite like to have them on every door (husband says 'NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!').  I'll have to choose carefully in that case, won't I?
