Painted glass?
« on: January 29, 2008, 11:23:05 PM »
Hi--is anyone familiar with Murano glass that has been handpainted (especially with little white flowers that look like dogwoods)?

I received a small piece for Christmas which is dark green and it appears to have an older Murano label on the bottom.  I will try to post a picture soon.

Thanks!

I've seen loads of vases being hand-painted in Murano.  Do you mean the ones where the flowers are sort of stuck on afterwards, like this one?  I believe they've been made on Murano for decades!  However, I also suspect some of the more recent ones may be Chinese imports, just decorated in Murano!  >:(
