Studio jade bowl with ruby rim....ID = Neil Wilkin
« on: February 02, 2008, 05:44:41 PM »
ID help please.....

I think this is a lovely little bowl but have no idea who may have made it..

18cm (7in) diameter, opal celadon jade colour with ruby rim and clear applied foot, snapped pontil scar and a little base wear but no signature.

Any ideas or possible ID's very welcome.

Many thanks,
Martyn.

Manchester studio, can't remember exact name, but probably made by Neil Wilkin.
Something like Manchester Contemporary Glass Studio...super stuff but only in existence for a very short time mid eighties.

Fantastic Adam...many thanks, I thought this might be a tricky one.

It has a beautiful feel in the hand (super-smooth) and nicely balanced form, and now one more out of the 'anon' box....very pleased.
