Orrefors lamp bases
« on: February 03, 2008, 03:41:13 PM »
I saw a pair of lamp bases at a fair today- Loved them but didn't buy (yet) as I was a little concerned about the drilled holes( didn't look as neatly finished as i would expect from orrefors). Would they have been drilled? or would the cable have been joined at the fitting (which was missing). Foolishly i had no pen/paper and can't be sure that ive remembered the letters/ numbers correctly - I think it was Orrefors RD 1480  on base and chromed top. I've found a few online- none the same but they do all have drilled holes. Is this the norm? How are they usually finished?
Thanks,
David

I have seen several Orrefors lamps with drilled holes. I have a RD 1566 (designed by Carl Fagerlund)
and I have eclosed a couple of photos for you.
