Topic: Outrageously Large Cased Vase

If it's a vintage piece, it's a small miracle it survived intact without being knocked over and broken.  Any thoughts as to maker and vintage?  Is it even Murano (versus Scandi)?

Looks a little Carlo Morreti ish in style and colour.just a guess tho.

My guess is Swedish (Aseda) although the colour is non typical - or Belgian. This size is called a floor vase.

This type of vase is often called a pencil stem or pencil neck vase. The vase is similar to Carlo Moretti's line, but the ones I have seen by Moretti have all had pedestal bases and satino finishes, though they may have made other finishes. This vase appears to be glossy in the pictures.

After writing that last message, I checked my Italian Glass book by Leslie Pina. There are some vases that are made by Carlo Moretti on page 48. Some of these vases are glossy and do not have a pedestal base. A couple of the styles have a slightly flared lip, as yours does. Perhaps you can check vases made by Carlo Moretti to see if you can find one that has the same characteristics and dimensions. I would say there is a good chance your vase was made by them.

Eureka!  I found it hiding in plain sight on page 135 of Leslie Pina's Italian Glass book, listed as "extreme 1960s" vase.  Extreme indeed.  Unfortunately, no attribution to manufacturer given.  :huh:
N.B. I think her values are optimistic.
