Incidentally, why is your name as the author not on this page advertising the book? http://www.chanceglass.net/pages/index.html ?
I'm not one for blowing my own trumpet - the book is the important factor, not me.

David, we know you're a modest sort of chap BUT your name on there will help promote it, as a cross-reference for search engines especially, so I sincerely suggest you should add your name (even if in small letters - the spiders will find it regardless.) Your name is *part* of the book now.
Cheers! Anne, da tekniqual wizzerd

Vetoed. Which is an anagram for devote as well.

An addendum to this topic: flashed-opal glass, which accounted for virtually all of Chance's use of opal glass, was definitely not made after 1960, so the 'pendant' dates between when the engineer started (about 1948) and 1959. Opal glass was made in the Coloured Department acccording to Ray Drury.

Now that you have identified it, the question is are there any more?

A question I can indeed answer, as I bought one today at the Doncaster Racecourse antique fair - in a clear dark green. Photo to follow.

I really like it - and I really would have sworn it came from Scandinavia, were it not for this thread.

David told me some time ago that he was no longer visiting or posting on the board. His last logged-in visit here was back in April.

Nice find Nic! :)
